Why I’m Pivoting from "Jack of All Trades" to Strategic Brand Partner
For my entire career, I have worn many hats under the umbrella title of “Communications Professional.” I’ve been a graphic designer, campaign strategist, content creator, website copywriter, and public relations assistant. The list goes on.
When I started Karpi Diem Brand Alchemy in 2025, I built the business to follow this pattern. I offered a bit of everything: logo design, website development, copywriting, and strategy.
Many communications professionals will attest that they are a “jack of all trades”, especially those of us from the non-profit sector, because the limited funding requires us to operate this way. But recently, I had an epiphany that has shifted the entire direction of my business for 2026.
The Epiphany: Why Aesthetic Design Isn't Enough
As I started working 1:1 with clients, I advised them to focus on developing a brand blueprint — identifying the who, what, and why of their business — before worrying about visuals.
And I realised I wasn’t even following my own advice. I began asking myself the questions I ask my clients:
Who is Karpi Diem meant to serve?
Why does my business exist?
What distinct value do I offer?
The answer was clear. The clients who experienced the best outcomes weren’t the ones who hired me to simply update their look or design a logo based on aesthetic preferences. They were the ones who took the time to explore strategic brand positioning and understand who they serve and how their work fits into a bigger vision.
My New Focus: strategic brand consulting
From those deep dives, I was able to build targeted campaigns and structured visibility that helped their businesses move forward in real, measurable ways.
So, in 2026, Karpi Diem Brand Alchemy is operating with new intentions.
I will no longer offer standalone logo design or website design. While I have experience in design and enjoy digital illustration, it is not where my skills drive the most growth for you.
